Couture of the Lambs?

If you are anything like me the news that the Fall/Winter 2012 Couture shows have started was exciting news. YAY!  I surfed on over to take a gander and not exactly sure what to make of it. Versace was nice, I found Chanel just plain... meh.  Then I took a look at Giambattista Valli. This collection looks like it was inspired from scenes of "Snow White and the Huntsman" and, wait for it... "Silence of the Lambs".  Um.. what?

Is anyone else creeped out by this?

  1. Er, what? That is actually very creepy. I don't know what the hell they were going for here, but what I got was "women should be silent and beautiful."

    Ugh.

  2. That was a weird theme they had going. Very creepy. Weirdness aside, though, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of the green/purple printed fabrics in that collection.

  3. That second dress! I wants it! As for the butterflies, that's creepy enough to give me nightmares....

  4. Creepy? Very, Sometimes looking at those couture shows I feel like the boy in "The Emperors new clothes" I want to say UUUUh? Wat on Earth? but then I think that it's just me who can't get it so, like the villagers I shut up and watch. But I guess some people are eccentric like that.

  5. I like the last three dresses better than the first. Two and Four have an over under effect with the skirts which I like, though I'm still not sure about the pockets on Three. I do like fabric on them over all I'm drawn to Two the most...maybe because it's so dark.

  6. Well I like the dresses! I could do without the bondage butterflies, however.

  8. Wait, those are really there? I though it was a photoshop thing. Definitely creepy. Um. But I adore the second dress, the dark green. I will take that one in a New York minute.
